Our friendly and experienced team also cater for children and young adults as we realise the importance of starting a preventative plan early, to ensure great oral health for life.

Dental Hygiene

Our qualified team of Hygiene Therapists and state of the art hygiene treatments will help ensure your mouth stays fresh and free from tooth decay and gum disease.

Through a combination of skill and care, plus your own oral hygiene efforts at home, we can help ensure your teeth and gums remain in tip-top condition. Instead of filling decayed teeth, we believe in investing in a bespoke oral care routine and keeping any problems at bay. This way all of our patients can maintain a healthy, happy mouth for life.

Dental Check ups

Regular dental check-ups and routine examinations by our qualified team of dentists and hygienist are essential to ensure your teeth and gums are healthy.

Brushing and flossing alone isn’t always enough and an expert is needed to spot any problems early, such as dental decay, gum disease or oral cancer.

We’re here to ensure you’re given first class care and the service you need to guarantee a great smile for life.

Dentistry for children

We make sure your child’s dental journey is a positive one from the very get-go! Our expert team of dental professionals provide regular, fun and friendly checks-up to help maintain great oral health from an early age and prevent any unnecessary dental issues.

We’re a family friendly dental practice, here to help ensure your child maintains a healthy mouth and confident smile for the duration of their life. When you become our patient, we put you and your family on the right path and help avoid any of the unpleasantries associated with dental health, like tooth decay and gum disease.

To ensure healthy teeth and gums, we advise that you bring your child to visit us from the moment you spot signs of their first tooth. Regular checkups, brushing their teeth twice a day and a healthy diet are all part of maintaining excellent oral teeth, right from the very beginning.

Prevention is always better than cure, so together let’s put your children on the best possible path for their future dental health.

TEETH AND PREGNANCY

Pregnancy is an exciting time but are you aware of the implications it may have on your oral health? Here are some reasons why pregnant women should take extra care with their dentition:

  1. The hormone progesterone can be raised up to 10 x higher than the normal level in the body during pregnancy, affecting it’s response to toxins and making it more susceptible to developing periodontal disease, also known as pregnancy gingivitis.

  2. Some pregnant women also develop a growth on their gums known as a pregnancy granuloma: red nodules, usually found on the upper gums. While they are not dangerous, they can cause discomfort.

  3. Other oral health problems may include dry mouth and tooth erosion as a result of constant exposure to acid from severe morning sickness.

If you’re pregnant we recommend that you come to the practice for a thorough check up so that we can help you maintain great oral health for the duration of your pregnancy and beyond.

Teeth and smoking

Are you aware of the negative effects smoking has on your oral health? It can lead to serious medical conditions and even chronic diseases such as lung cancer. However, there’s another side effect of smoking that doesn’t get as much attention, and that’s the toll it takes on your mouth, gums and teeth. Smoking can lead to tooth staining, gum disease, tooth loss, and in more severe cases, mouth cancer.

Patients who smoke should have regular check-ups with a dentist who will be able to advise about all dental issues and detect any signs of developing disease. You may require orthodontic treatment or be advised to see the dental hygienist for preventative advice about diet, toothbrushing and treatment of gum problems.

SPORTS MOUTH GUARDS

Do you require a sports mouth guard? Our guards are custom-made rubber coverings worn over your teeth to protect them from damage in contact and ball-based sports. Once inserted they carefully cushion the teeth and gums and help avoid damage such as chipped or broken teeth.

  • We provide children's dental mouth guards but these will need regular replacement to allow for growth.

  • Adults will also require a regular review of their dental mouth guards due to wear and tear.

My preventative plan has put my mind at ease and I’m confident my teeth are in the best possible care.
